For the first time, I decided to take part in Ali Edwards’ Day in the Life project. Funny enough, when I finally decide to do it – I don’t really have much to document. I’m in the process of looking for a new job. I’ve wrapped up all of my freelance projects in preparation for my supposed new job. And so my days are pretty calm. Nevertheless, I’m glad I did it and hopefully the next time I document my day in detail there will be a lot of differences.
Even though I considered making a separate mini album for this project, once the day had passed and I took stock of the pictures I had taken, it was clear that it would work better as an insert into my project life album.
I used Photoshop to make faux-Polaroids. The square pictures with the rounded corners looks a bit funny – but I’m sticking with it. Next time I’ll do the formatting a bit different.
9:52 AM – Wake up time. I know, it’s late. But everyday is kind of like a Saturday in these parts. It’s a bit embarrassing. That’s why since Day in the Life I’ve made an effort to wake up a bit earlier each day.
10:02 AM – After I get up, sloppily make my bed and get ready for the day, I step on the scale. For the record, I don’t weigh zero pounds, but obviously I wasn’t going to show my real weight. A lot of work went into getting this picture taken before the numbers started going up.
10:14 AM – Breakfast time. Everyday it’s oatmeal with cinnamon and raisins and a coffee with milk. Everyday. Seven days a week. During breakfast I catch up on news, either CNN or HLN.
11:17 AM – I’ve made my way to my computer and begin by checking emails. Nope, no job offers. So I read a few blogs and check Instagram. Then, begin another day of job searching.
1:23 PM – I’m having hard-boiled eggs for lunch today. They’ve already boiled and are now cooling down.
1:39 PM – It’s raining. Again. These are the times I am oh so happy to not have to go outside.
1:58 PM – This year I’ve decided that I am going to learn a few things in the kitchen – we’re talking basics here. But the one thing I’m really good at? Peeling eggs.
The early afternoon is sort of a blur of television and reading.
4:39 PM – This is probably like my sixth puzzle of the year. I work on it a bit as I eat my pre-workout snack.
4:42 PM – I get in the car and take off to my Zumba class. I’ll be listening to an episode from the Gilmore Guys podcast on the way there.
5:28 PM – Time for Zumba.
6:51 PM – I’m heading back home. The dark clouds are beginning to roll in again.
7:20 PM – I’m usually starving by the time I get home from class, so dinner is immediately upon my arrival. Today it was pasta with picadillo.
8:36 PM – Post shower turbie twist selfie.
10:48 PM – James Corden had a prime time special of carpool karaoke so I made sure to watch that.
10:58 PM – I settle into bed for the night and watch an episode (or two) of Gilmore Girls on Netflix before I go to sleep.
It such a simple day – but that’s what my life is these days.
Did you take part in Day in the Life? If you did and you have pictures, I’d love to see them – comment with a link.
