Switching to a monthly format as opposed to a weekly allows for a much more flexible memory keeping system. In February I took a trip to the Caribbean and because I wasn’t bound by week numbers I was able to include a lot more pictures and memories.
The ‘who’s who’ tab above is attached to a piece of transparency sheet on which I wrote the names of all the people in the photo. This way I have the record of who’s who without crowding the picture.
Those Heidi Swapp letters are some of my favorite. I bought a few packs at Michael’s when they were on clearance, and I think I should have bought them all up…
So sorry about all the blurred out pictures and journaling. But you know why I’m doing that (privacy).
The pocket with the cruise cards is attached to the outside of the page protector. I like that this adds some dimension to the page and it encourages those who are looking through the album to touch.
Also, I finally caved and bought a fuse tool. Totally like it. I wish it would give an indication of it being on or ready – but I’ll get used to that.
Initially I tried to stamp on the port names to the pictures. The resulted in misspelling and mislabeling. So I gave up and just printed the pictures with the text on it.
There were so many pictures to choose from for each stop. So, they each got a page.
I’m second guessing even putting this next page up on the blog – it’s pretty much just a blurred out mess.
The last page of the trip is full of pictures of the town where my family is from.
I didn’t include a lot of memorabilia on the trip pages because a lot of that went into the travel journal. That’s also why there is hardly any journaling.
The last two weeks of February were calm and back at home, and the pages show that. I was a bit tired of the documenting and so there are very few pictures.
I of course had to document Leo’s Oscar win.
You know that saying about taking off an accessory before you leave the house to make sure that you’re not overdone. Well, I have the opposite saying for my Project Life this year. I keep asking myself, what else can I add?
I usually steer clear from over embellishing, sometimes because I want to hoard supplies and sometimes because I’m worried about composition and color combinations. But this year I am really forcing myself to use more of my stash and to add more personality to my pages.
